عقد مجلس الأمن الدولي جلسة مشاورات مغلقة قد تفضي إلى التصويت على مشروع قرار لوقف فوري لإطلاق النار في غزة تم التوصل إلى اتفاق مبدئي على عناصره الأساسية. وكانت المجموعة العربية في الأمم المتحدة قد أصرت على تقديم مشروع القرار للتصويت وقال الأمين العام لجامعة الدول العربية عمرو موسى إن على المجلس أن يوضع أمام مسؤولياته وأضاف. "على مجلس الأمن أن يوضع أمام مسؤولياته. بقرار أو من دون قرار على المجلس وعلى الأعضاء الدائمين فيه أن يقوموا بعملهم.
