Developed Camping Areas

Waco Lake has 4 campgrounds Airport Park, Midway Park, Reynolds Creek Park, and Speegleville Park.

Lake Waco has RV, tent and group camping facilities. Camping is permitted in designated areas only. A complete copy of all rules and regulations can be obtained at each park and at the Waco Lake Office.

Airport Park

Airport Park closed

Location

Airport Park is located on the North Shore of the lake 1/4 mile west of the dam. From IH 35 take the Lake Shore Drive exit, head West to Steinbeck Bend Road, take a right and head to Airport Road. At the stop sign, take a right, go 2 miles, the park entrance will be on the left.

Camping

The park is currently open year round from 6:00am to 10:00pm. Airport Park has a campsite just for you. The park includes 8 screened shelters $30.00 per night , 21 campsites with sewer/water/electric, $24.00 per night, 38 campsites with water/electric, $20.00 per night, and 15 primitive sites with water, $12.00 per night. The park includes many 30 and 50 amp sites.

Day-Use Facilities

Airport Park has a two-lane boat ramp which can be accessed for day-use purposes. The fee to launch a boat is $4.00 per day, or visitors may purchase the $30.00 annual pass.

Overnight Group Camping Shelter

Airport Park now includes a newly remodeled group camping shelter. The shelter includes 8 campsites, some with electric/water/sewage hookups. This shelter is perfect for the large group camps. click here.


Reynolds Creek Park

Location

Formerly known as Speegleville I Park, Reynolds Creek Park is located on the west shore of the lake. From IH 35 take Hwy 6 north for about 7 miles to Speegleville Rd., exit right, about 1 mile down Speegleville Rd you will come to a 4 way stop, continue straight to entrance of park.

Camping

The park is currently open year round from 6:00am to 10:00pm. The park has 6 primitive/tent camping sites (no electricity or water; $12.00/night) and 51 campsites with water and electric hookups (some 30amp and some 50amp; $20.00/night).

Day Use Facilities

The park has a two-lane boat ramp. The fee for boat launching is $4.00 per day.

Amphitheater Programs

Waco Lake offers several educational learning programs. One of those being the amphitheater programs presented during the summer in Reynolds Creek Park. Beginning Memorial Day weekend and going through Labor Day weekend a program is presented at the amphitheater each Saturday night starting at sunset and ending at 10:00pm. Program topics presented include information on hunting, fishing, snakes, birds, lake history, water safety, camping etc. Click here for a list of the summer program topics, dates, and speakers.

Midway Park

Location

Midway Park is located on the east shore of the South Bosque River. From IH 35 take Hwy 6 for about 5 miles, exit right at Midway Park exit, circle under bridge; park is 1/2 mile down service road.

Camping

The park is currently open year round from 6:00am to 10:00pm. The park has 11 camping sites with water, electric & sewer, ($22.00/night), 22 camping sites with water & electric hookups ($20.00/night), 4 double sites ($36.00/night) and 5 primitive/tent sites ($12.00/night). The park also has a multi-use play area for children and a boat ramp..

Day Use Facilities

Midway Park has a two-lane boat ramp for launching boats. The fee for boat launching is $4.00 per day.

From Midway Park the Hwy 6 bridge can be seen as it spans over Waco Lake.

 


Speegleville Park

Location

Speegleville Park is located on the west shore of the lake. From IH 35 take Hwy 6 north toward Meridian for about 6 miles. After passing over the Lake on the Twin Bridges take the first exit. Take a left on the access road. You will continue past the Twin Bridges Park about a quarter of a mile un till you reach Overflow Road. Once on Overflow road continue driving until you reach the Park entrance.

Camping

The park is currently open year round from 6:00am to 10:00pm. Reservations cannot be made for this campground. The park has a total of 32 campsites. The park includes 2 screened shelters ($30.00), 21 sites with water/electric ($20.00), and 9 sites with electric only ($16.00). The Park also includes a 4 lane boat ramp.

GOLDEN AGE/ACCESS CARDS & ANNUAL PASSES

The Golden Age Card and Golden Access Card are honored at all Corps of Engineer operated parks. The Golden Age Card and the Golden Access Card provides the owner of the card a 50% discount on all camping and day use fees. An Annual Pass is a Corps of Engineers pass which allows the owner of the pass to enter all day use areas free of charge for an entire year.
