Sullivan, M.D., today named J. Michael Hudson to serve as acting administrator of the Health Care Financing Administration. Hudson has been deputy administrator of the agency since Feb. 5, 1990. Previously, Hudson was the director of public policy analysis at the accounting firm of Coopers and Lybrand. His past government experience included positions of assistant secretary of the Treasury for legislative affairs, special assistant to the president for legislative affairs, and director of legislative affairs for the Office of Management and Budget. Hudson, a native of Texas, served on the staffs of U.S. Representative Tom Loeffler and the late U.S. Senator John Tower. He and his wife reside in the District of Columbia. Gail R. Wilensky, Ph.D., HCFA administrator since February 1990, will serve as deputy assistant to the president for policy development beginning March 9. ###
