David Byrd is a two-decade veteran of radio news and programming. A graduate of West Virginia University, David joined VOA in 1989 and has held a variety of positions in news and sports.

David has hosted sports segments on many VOA Programs, including World Report, Report to the Americas, Caribbean Report, VOA Today, and Asia Report.

He was part of the VOA team at the Atlanta Olympics, as well as the Pan American Games and the U.S. Olympic Festival.
