The training addresses each component of the federal green-purchasing program, including compliance with legal requirements and Federal Acquisition Regulation provisions. Students will learn different strategies on how to incorporate green principles into the procurement cycle, including acquisition, contract language, and existing product resources and standards (i.e., LEED). Green accounting principles, as well as available tools will be discussed. The course will cover implementation of a green procurement program, including success stories and challenges, goals, and metrics. The training is being offered November 5-6, 2008, at DOI University in Washington, D.C.
