	November 24, 2008 HP-1289 Statement by Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr. on Geithner Nomination Washington -- The Treasury Department issued the following statement from Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr. on the President-Elect's announcement today that Timothy Geithner will be nominated for Treasury Secretary in the next administration: "I have the highest regard for Tim – his judgment and creativity have been critical to designing and implementing the necessary actions we've taken to protect and strengthen our financial system. I have great confidence in his understanding of markets, his judgment and leadership, and his ability to meet the challenges that lie ahead."
