DDESS Education Division - School & Community Website Assistance

DDESS Web sites enhance dialogue and promote trust among parents, students, the community and DDESS and help us promote student development through partnerships and communication.

DDESS Area Service Center (ASC) Web Site

The ASC Web site facilitates communication and information dissemination to all DDESS stakeholders as well as the general public by:

  • Providing visitors with information about the DDESS organization.
  • Serving as a gateway to the DDESS community and school Web sites
  • Hosting DDESS-wide information that can be linked to and from community and school Web sites.
  • Pointing to helpful information for parents and students on the larger Web.
  • Showcasing the great things that happen in DDESS schools.

District/Community Websites

The community Web site is a cost-efficient manner of reaching the community, from learning about its programs to receiving emergency information. The community Web site maintains content that is of interest to all school Web site audiences in the community. The community Web site:

  • Informs parents, teachers, students and community members about what’s going on in the community such as special events, achievements, news and announcements that apply to all schools in the community.
  • Displays school accomplishments, student works and other great things happening in the community’s schools.
  • Provides content that is required for school sites but applies to all schools in the community or district, i.e., community/district policies, programs, resources, etc.

School Web Sites

A school’s Web site should be a constantly changing window on exactly what the school wants parents and students to know at any given moment. It should also be a tool that helps the teachers communicate directly with parents, and helps parents find and communicate with the staff. The school Web site:

  • Informs parents and community members about what’s going on in the school such as special events, student achievements, day-to-day successes, news and announcements.
  • Displays school accomplishments, student works and other great things happening in the school.
  • Creates visibility among prospective employees and relocating families
  • Provides a safe starting point for students to the Internet.
