EEO Mission Statement
To provide technical and professional advice to the employees and management of Portland District in accordance with Title VII Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, and all applicable EEO regulatory guidelines which safeguard the workplace and its employees from discrimination based on sex, race, color, national origin, age, disability, religion, reprisal or physical/mental disability.
EEO Missions:
- Serve as the District Commander's/Commander's primary advisor on EEO/Affirmative Employment
- Manage the Department of the Army complaints processes system
- Provide EEO related training
- Provide leadership and guidance in administering the Special Emphasis Programs
- Plan, develop, and monitor the implementation of the Portland District Affirmative Employment Plan
EEO Program Objectives:
To process complaints of discrimination in a timely manner, resolve workplace disputes at the lowest possible level utilitizing alternative dispute resolution, implement Affirmative Employment initiatives and identify systemic barriers and discriminatory practices which impedes cultivation of diverse workforce.
