Researcher George Howard of the University of Alabama, Birmingham says patients might not act on the symptoms.

``Most likely, they’re symptoms that either don’t raise the level of awareness in the patient to the level that they would go to the doctor, or there are barriers that would stop the patient from going to the doctor – such as income, and access to health care.” (13 seconds)
