Being a player?

From the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, I’m Ira Dreyfuss with HHS HealthBeat.

Left? Right? Center? Three of the top players in the Ladies Professional Golf Association should know which way the ball breaks:

``I think it breaks a little to the left.’’

``Uh-uh. To the right.’’

``Nope. Straight.’’ (4 seconds)

That’s Lorena Ochoa calling left; Natalie Gulbis, right, and Karrie Webb, center.

Not about golf, though. It’s a rousing game of kickball. With a bunch of kids.

(Jingle)

It’s a new PSA to encourage kids to be more physically active. The Ad Council spot has a simple message: ``Be a Player. Get Up and Play. An Hour a Day.” That’s the amount of play time experts think kids need to grow strong and avoid growing fat. And it can be more fun than watching TV or staying on the computer.

And in case you wondered – Gulbis had the call. The kick went right.
