PORTLAND, Ore. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking additional comments on an application for a permit to conduct work in waters of the United States. The revised public notice regarding this permit application was issued during the week of Sep. 7, 2008.
Public Notice NWP-2005-321 describes a proposal by the City of Lake Oswego, Ore., to remove about 410 feet of an existing wooden dock and associated pilings at Mile 20.4 of the Willamette River, and install 293 feet of concrete dock and associated pilings and other infrastructure in its place.
The Corps is soliciting comments on this proposal from the public; federal, state and local agencies; Indian Tribes; and other interested parties. The public notice which provides more information is available at http://www.nwp.usace.army.mil/op/g/public.asp. Comments must be received by Oct. 14.
The Corps issues or denies permits under authority of Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 for work in or affecting navigable waters of the United States.
