PORTLAND, Ore. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reviewing two applications requesting a Department of the Army permit for certain work in waters of the United States. The public notices regarding the permit application listed here were issued during the week of Aug. 27, 2007.
Public Notice NWP-2007-626, requested by Harley Lassen, LLC. The project is located south of Barger Drive and west of U.S. Highway 99 in Eugene, Ore. The applicant proposes to discharge fill into 0.31 acre of an unnamed tributary to Amazon Creek and 0.88 acre of adjacent wetlands to create a residential subdivision and infrastructure. Public Notice NWP-2007-358, requested by Rocky Ridge Venture. This is an after-the-fact permit application. The project is located at the end of Rocky Ridge Drive, near Highway 138 in Roseburg, Ore. The applicant discharged about 13,000 cubic yards of fill material into 0.57 acre of wetlands and into 0.62 acre of four unnamed tributaries to realign the streams and construct a 293-lot residential subdivision and associated infrastructure. If a permit is issued, the Corps will determine what is appropriate and practicable compensatory mitigation. Comments must be received by Sept. 27, 2007.
