Corps of Engineers closes Plymouth Park due to vandalism

PORTLAND, Ore. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers closed the day-use area at Plymouth Park near Umatilla, Ore., Tuesday morning after vandalism was found, Corps officials said. The campground remains open to visitors.

The day-use area will remain closed until Thursday morning to allow the Corps’ park ranger staff to assess the situation and determine any repairs that may be needed. Benton County police identified the vandalism as gang-related graffiti.

Services offered at Plymouth Park include picnic facilities, a boat ramp, fishing, swimming, water skiing, sailboarding, camping, trailer with hookups, drinking water, restrooms, showers, vault/chemical toilets and handicapped accessible facilities.
