U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Offices close to honor Ford

National Day of Mourning observed January 2, 2007

PORTLAND, Ore. – Employees of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will join other federal employees and the nation in mourning the death of Gerald Ford, 38th President of the United States.

Ford died this week at age 93.

The flag will fly at half-mast at all Corps offices and installations. Corps employees will take part in a National Day of Mourning, Jan. 2, 2007. Corps offices will close, excluding those involved with power generation and recreation.
