Corps announces visitor center, fishing area closure at Bonneville

Portland, Ore. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that the Bradford Island Visitor Center and fishing area at Bonneville Lock and Dam will be closed Sept. 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The road providing access to the visitor center and fishing area will be closed due to needed maintenance. The Washington Shore Visitor Facilities will remain open as usual from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., where visitors can view exhibits and see salmon, steelhead, sturgeon and lamprey as they head upstream through the fish ladders.

The Robins Island and Tanner Creek fishing areas in Oregon, and the North Shore and Hamilton Island fishing areas in Washington will be open Sept. 5 all day.

Bonneville Lock and Dam is located 40 miles east of Portland. From Portland, follow Interstate 84 to exit 40 to reach Bradford Island Visitor Center, or follow Washington State Route 14 to mile post 40 to visit the Washington Shore Visitor Complex.
