PORTLAND, Ore. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reviewing an application requesting a Department of the Army permit for certain work in waters of the United States. The public notice regarding the permit application listed here was issued during the week of July 3, 2006.
Public Notice 200600259, requested by Ralston Development Corp. The project is located on the Willamette River at Northwest 18th and Front avenues in Portland, Ore. The applicant proposes to construct a marina and transient tie-up boat dock to provide additional moorage on the Willamette River near Portland. Comments must be received by Aug. 4, 2006. The Corps of Engineers is soliciting comments from the public, federal, state and local agencies, Indian Tribes and other interested parties on this permit request.
The Corps of Engineers will issue or deny any permit under authority of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, for discharge of dredged or fill material into U.S. waters, and/or under Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 for work in or affecting navigable waters of the United States.
If the applicant has submitted a mitigation plan with the permit request, it will be considered. If a permit is issued, the Corps will decide on the appropriate and practicable compensatory mitigation for each proposed project.
