Corps to hold open house on Dexter shoreline issues

Portland, Ore.--The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host a Dexter Lake Shoreline Management Open House from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 31, at the Lowell Fire Hall. Anyone with an interest in Dexter Lake, shoreline management plans or other natural resource management issues pertinent to the Dexter Lake area is invited to attend.

During the Open House, Corps representatives will be available to discuss the current revision process of the Dexter Lake Shoreline Management Plan, answer questions and hear concerns.

Corps regulations require periodic review and revision of shoreline management plans in order to balance the need for public access and natural resource protection. The Dexter Lake Shoreline Management Plan was last revised in October 1995.

To learn more about the Dexter Lake Shoreline Management Program, visit the Corps Willamette Valley Project webpage at http://www.nwp.usace.army.mil/op/V/home.asp or call Travis Chewning or Dustin Bengtson at (541) 937-2129.
