Corps seeks input on maintenance dredging near Goble, Ore.

Portland, Ore. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is evaluating a permit application from Pacific Cascade Resources to perform annual dredging to maintain barge draft depth in the Columbia River near Goble, Ore. As part of its permit evaluation process, the Corps is requesting public comments on the proposed project prior to making its determination on whether to issue or deny a permit for the work.

The work will consist of annual dredging of a maximum of 1,500 cubic yards (cy) of material each year for five years at River Mile 73.5 in Columbia County. The Corps will consider whether the proposed project meets standards of the Clean Water and Endangered Species acts and will look at the overall impact of the project on the affected area.
