Dear Parents and Students,

---We are so excited to be finally returning back to the original Pinckney Elementary building at 5900 Chesnut Road for the 2008-2009 school year. Our things are packed and ready for the move up the hill over the summer. We do not have a firm moving date yet since we plan on painting all classrooms prior to our arrival back home.

---We look forward to greeting new and returning students to Pinckney in Grades 2-6. The first day of school will be August 21, 2008. We will host a “Meet the Teacher” session on August 20, 2008, between 2:00-2:45pm. Letters will be mailed home the week prior to that with your child’s classroom placement for next year. The front office will remain open on most days during the summer. Our regular hours are 8:00am-4:00pm. You can reach us at 787-6815 (Pinckney) or 787-8266 (Pinckney Annex).

*NEW* GradeSpeed Parent Connection

---DoDEA is implementing GradeSpeed in its 4th-6th grade classrooms worldwide during the 2008-2009 school year. GradeSpeed will give parents online access to their children’s grades and attendance from anyplace in the world with internet access. An introductory GradeSpeed Brochure will be sent home with students. The Parent Connection User Guide is available for downloading. You can access the GradeSpeed Parent Portal here.
