Special Event and Facility Permits

Does your group or organization wish to hold a special event at Bonneville Dam? Would you like to rent our Auditorium Building (which houses a gymnasium and training room) or Picnic Shelter for an event? You can! Please complete the following steps to get the permit process started. If you have questions about an existing permit or about the Bonneville Dam permit program, contact the Park Ranger staff at 541-374-8344 or send us an e-mail with your questions.

Special Event Permits...

Special events permits are required for events which are open to the public without any associated fees. Examples are events such as water carnivals, boat regattas, fishing tournaments, music festivals, dramatic presentations, walking events or other special recreation programs. The Special Event Permit Processing fee*= $50.00/event.

Step 1- Determine the details and location for your Event.

Step 2 - Complete a Permit Application*. Please download and complete the following Permit Application (two formats available): Word document [34 kb] / PDF file [18 kb]

Step 3 - Mail the completed permit to:

    Bonneville Lock and Dam
    Attn: Ranger Office, Event Application
    Cascade Locks, OR 97014-0150

NOTE- Do not send checks with your application; payment of permit fees are due after the permit has been finalized. Checks sent with the application will be returned.

Step 4 - The Park Ranger Staff will contact you. Upon receipt of the permit application, a park ranger will contact you regarding the details of your request. The park ranger will use your permit and additional conversations to draft a Permit. The park ranger will then work with you on finalizing the permit, obtaining proper signatures of approval and obtaining the appropriate permit fees. 

Facility Rental Permits....

Step 1 - Determine which facility you would like to rent: Auditorium or Picnic Shelter.

Notes:
* There may be cases where a Special Event and Facilities permit are BOTH required. However, you only need to submit 1 Permit Application in this case. For multi-day events, a blanket Special Event permit can be issued for the event, at a single cost.

** 1/2 day is considered less than four hours total use.
