Program Description
In Colorado, the Energy $aving Partners (E$P) program weatherizes more than 3,200 homes every year. These households save an average of 20 percent on their monthly heating bills after the weatherization work is completed. The dollar savings alone make a big difference for the families. In addition, weatherization makes the home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. The home also is made safer as E$P's technicians always check furnaces and appliances for carbon monoxide. This measure makes a life-or-death difference for the homes' occupants. Agency technicians also tune up and repair furnaces and hot water heaters, add insulation to attics and crawl spaces, conduct air leakage tests and seal air leaks.

Weatherization work makes a daily impact on low-income-families. Weatherization also benefits the community by preventing the "export" of energy dollars, employing skilled weatherization crews and contractors, reducing power plant emissions and improving the local environment.
