Ron Morrow, State Grazing Lands Specialist, Little Rock

  • Worked 8 years for ATTRA, USDA funded service for sustainable agriculture.
  • Worked 20 years at University of Missouri-Columbia.
  • Area Livestock Specialist
  • Professor of Animal Science
  • Co-organized the Missouri Grazing Workshops with Jim Gerrish.
  • Research in cow-calf management, forage systems, grazing management.
  • Taught beef cattle production, introductory animal science, farm animal management.
  • Conducted research at outlying centers.

Ralph Harris, Grazing Lands Specialist, Hope

  • Agronomist degree from the University of Arkansas, 1979
  • Agronomist/Grazing land specialist
  • Grazing lands specialist serving 30 counties in south Arkansas
  • I began my career in December 1980 and worked as a soil conservationist for 4 years. I was a District Conservation in two locations for a total of 11 years. I have worked as an area grass land specialist for 7 years and in the Arkansas state grassland specialist position for 3 years.
  • I am married, have two children, a daughter-in-law and a 4 month old grand son. I live on my home place and run a cow-calf operation for fun.

Claire Whiteside, Grazing Lands Specialist, Harrison

  • Claire is a Grazing Lands Specialist in Harrison, Ark. 
  • Claire received her B. S. in Wildlife Ecology, with an emphasis in Range Science, from Texas A&M University in 1981.
  • She worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a Forestry Aid in Harrison, then joined SCS/NRCS as a Soil Conservationist in Asheville, N.C., and as a District Conservationist in Jasper, Ark.,  before starting in her present position 11 years ago.
  • She provides technical support to NRCS and CD personnel and works directly with livestock producers in part of the northwest quarter of the state to improve pasture management.
