Contractors Applying for Government Contracts Must Be Registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database

Little Rock, Ark., Feb. 13, 2008 – Contractors applying for government contracts to cleanup the Feb. 5 tornado damage or any other federal contracts are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database.

CCR, the primary vendor database for the federal government, collects, validates, stores and disseminates data for federal agency acquisitions.

Vendors are required to complete a one-time registration to provide basic information about procurement and financial transactions. Vendors must update or renew their registration annually to maintain an active status. Both current and potential government vendors must register.

USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) district conservationists can supply vendors with a packet explaining the process for registering in the CCR database.

Registration in CCR does not guarantee business with the federal government.

To register or for more information on CCR, visit http://www.ccr.gov or call the customer assistance center at 1-888-227-2423. Worksheets are also available at the local USDA/NRCS service center.
