Summit Overview
The summit brought together federal and state leaders to review and discuss Virginia’s pandemic influenza planning. Following the morning's presentations, VDH hosted several breakout sessions to facilitate discussion and planning efforts, including:
Private Sector/Business
Includes but not limited to utilities, food suppliers, large and small businesses, banks, restaurants, and retail stores
Schools
Includes but not limited to both private and public schools, K-12, preschools, and day cares
Colleges and Universities
Includes but not limited to private and public, community colleges, and vocational schools
Local Government
Includes but not limited to city and county managers, planners, leaders, and military
Fire/EMS
Includes but not limited to law enforcement and judiciary, and volunteer and professional Fire/EMS
Assisted Living/Long Term Care
Includes but not limited to adult residential facilities, group living, nursing homes, and services for special needs
Community/Volunteer Groups
Includes but not limited to faith-based community groups, Red Cross, Medical Reserve Corps. (MRC), Citizen Emergency Response Teams (CERTS), and other volunteer groups
