The purpose of this dataset is to give geologists and other scientists a spatial database of electrical power stations in China. This data set will be utilized in energy research and cartographic projects.
China Electric Power Information Center (ed.), unknown, Electric Power Industry in China: Epoch Printing Co., Ltd, People's Republic of China.
Point data was captured by hand digitizing from an 5000000 scale paper map. Point data attributes are based on the published thematic map.
The original paper version of powerstation/powerplant 5000000; resolution is limited and it is not intended to be used at a more detailed scale.
This data set is a complete coverage of powerstation/powerplant locations and capacity based on information present on the original 5000000 thematic map.
The dataset is a point coverage. Each point has a class attribute classifying powerstation type and place name data.
