      Fitness Programs:

Cycle Ergometry: Tests conducted for active duty members medically waived from the 1.5 mile run. Please contact your PCM for questions.

Gait Analysis: This program is very useful for individuals concerned that they may be wearing the wrong running/exercising footwear. Having this analysis conducted drastically reduces injuries associated with wearing the wrong footwear. Anyone who is interested can contact the HAWC at 333-3733 to get scheduled.

HLP Follow-up (formerly FIP): Designed to arm active duty members with the fitness tools needed to "get in the green" for the new fitness program. Classes are held every other Thursday from 0800-0900 hrs at the HAWC. Open to Active Duty only.

Individual Exercise Plans: Meet with the Exercise Physiologist to design an exercise plan most appropriate for you and your fitness goals.

Introduction to Cybex/Strength Training: Learn how to use the Fitness Center equipment appropriately and safely. Receive hands-on demonstration and sample workout routines. Offered every 3rd Friday of the month at 0900. Call the Fitness Center at 333-3531 to sign up.

Quit Smart Tobacco Cessation: Quit Smart presents a wide variety of cognitive and behavioral coping methods, along with behavioral treatment of nicotine addiction. Classes are five weeks long from 1200-1300 hrs. Classes are offered quarterly at the HAWC. Contact the HAWC to sign up for the next scheduled class.

Nutrition Programs: Healthy Living Program (HLP) formerly HLW - A two-hour "nuts and bolts" class incorporating nutrition, exercise, and behavioral modification to foster a healthy lifestyle. Open to all. Classes are held every other Monday.

Body Composition Improvement Program (BCIP):
This class is a more in-depth version of the HLP. BCIP is a two part class(I & II), and is offered on alternating Tuesdays.

Individual Nutrition Counseling: Meet with a Diet Therapist to discuss your nutritional needs.

Lighter Side of Cooking: Learn how to prepare healthy and delicious dishes, and then take the opportunity to perform your own taste test free! Classes are held quarterly at the HQWC.

Body Composition Analysis: Abdominal Circumference Taping (courtesy only). Call the HAWC for more information @ 333-3733..

Body Tanita: A bio-electrical impedance machine that estimates body fat. Open to all during regular HAWC hours.

The Bod Pod: A state-of-the-art body composition analysis using air displacement to estimate body fat.
