The LACPR team is currently working to finalize the LACPR Final Technical Report. The goal is to transmit the draft of this 4,000-page document to the Mississippi Valley Division Office in late December, followed by a Corps of Engineers Headquarters policy review.

Once this policy review is complete and the LACPR team responds to these comments, the report will again be sent to the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), an independent group of highly respected professionals, for an additional independent, external peer review. This is expected to occur in the spring of 2009.

It is important to note the information in report has undergone significant revision in response to feedback from the National Academy of Sciences. This feedback resulted in modifications to the planning and decision making process which are being documented in the Final Technical Report.

Readers should also be aware that revisions will continue to be made as the review process continues. During its own review, the LACPR team identified areas of the evaluation that need to be reconsidered and updated.

In early 2008, the LACPR team provided NAS the LACPR Draft Technical Report for independent external peer review. In our ongoing effort to communicate, the Corps has made this draft version of the report available. Please note the posted version is dated February 2008. The team will post a new version in conjunction with the transmittal to NAS.
