Equipment Used
LIDAR
Purpose
High resolution, topographic data collection of sand bars, biological sites,
and archaeological sites prior to 2004 Glen Canyon Dam High Flow Test Study
Information to be Derived
Topographic surface data
Summary
Three sites were visited, Mile 30 Sand
Bar, Vaseys Paradise (Mile 32) and the Palisades Archaeological Site (Mile 66).
Seven scans were collected at Mile 30 (approx. 16 million data points), two
scans were collected at Vaseys Paradise (approx. 3 million data points), and
one scan was collected at the Palisades site (approx. 0.5 million data points).
Data collection was limited at the Palisades site by inclement weather.
Notes
Survey data was collected via total station by GCMRC staff.
