The National Defense University’s
Office of Academic Affairs is committed to building a community
of learning by ensuring education that is learner centered, academically
excellent, and offered in the context of a dynamic global environment
in support of the mission of the University.
The Office of Academic Affairs has responsibility for University
policies and oversight for all faculty and academic issues.
The Vice President for Academic Affairs, as chief academic officer,
has broad responsibility that includes oversight of the curriculum,
faculty development and professional faculty issues, academic
programming, and advances in educational technology and distributed
learning.
Beyond the walls of the University, Academic Affairs also has
the broad responsibility for developing and enhancing professional
relationships with Federal organizations, the accreditation
community, consortia, and the broader higher education community,
relevant professional organizations, and US and international
defense colleges and schools.
Academic Affairs is focused on providing a world-class registrar
operation serving a wide constituency and an exceptionally diverse
student and alumni population. The registrar is the single focal
point for advising the University community on creative solutions
that document and maintain effective student records with support
for a worldwide alumni base.
The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) is a trusted provider
of accurate, timely, unbiased, research-based information regarding
the University, in support of the University mission. The OIR
provides information and analysis support for the planning,
decision-making, assessment, and reporting needs of the NDU
leadership. |
