US Fish and Wildlife Service
This site is maintained by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Endangered Species Program, Division of Partnerships and Outreach. An excellent source for information on federally-protected threatened and endangered species.

National Register of Historic Places
Link to the National Park Service site known as the National Register Information System (NRIS) which provides valuable information regarding historic properties. NRIS is a database of information about places listed on or determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.

South Carolina Dept. of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC)
SCDHEC has provided water quality certification (WQC) and coastal zone consistency (CZC) for many of the applicable NWP's. In some cases SCDHEC denied either WQC or CZC for certain NWP's. Most of the certifications are conditional and require coordination with SCDHEC prior to authorization. This link will forward you to their web site that lists their certifications and conditions.

South Carolina Dept. of Archives and History State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO)

South Carolina Heritage Trust.
While no longer a part of the SC Dept of Natural Resources, this link to the SC Heritage Trust provides very useful information. NatureServe is a non-profit conservation organization that provides the scientific information and tools needed to help guide effective conservation action. The South Carolina Heritage Trust's purpose is to inventory, evaluate, and protect the elements considered the most outstanding representatives of our state heritage. The Heritage Trust Database contains information on the occurrence of rare, endangered and threatened species throughout the state.
