Program Description
Illinois' KidCare is a state program that offers health care coverage to children, pregnant women and their babies or helps in paying premiums of employer or private health insurance plans. KidCare services are available at no cost or at low cost. How much you pay depends on your family income and size.
General Program Requirements
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of Illinois, under 19 years of age, not covered by health insurance (including Medicaid), a US national, citizen, legal alien, or permanent resident, or pregnant, and you must have an annual household income before taxes of less than $81,684 if one person lives in the household; $109,524 if two people live in the household; $137,364 if three people live in the household; $165,204 if four people live in the household; $193,044 if five people live in the household; $220,884 if six people live in the household; $248,724 if seven people live in the household; $276,564 if eight people live in the household; $304,404 if nine people live in the household; $332,244 if 10 people live in the household; $360,084 if 11 people live in the household; $387,924 if 12 people live in the household; and $415,764 if more than 12 people live in the household.
