Equestrian Facilities at Sam Rayburn Reservoir

Equestrian Trails and Camping are available at Ebenezer Park, located off Hwy 255, 1.5 miles west of the Sam Rayburn Dam. Trails are provided primarily by the US ForestService, Angelina National Forest, and are presently not designated or marked, but are open for use.

Camping facilities for equestrians are available at Ebenezer Park. Ten campsites with electric and water hookups are available for equestrian use. Seven have 30 amp electric, and three have 50 amp hookups. Hitching posts are located at all 10 sites, and corrals are located within the camping area.

These 10 sites may be reserved up to 6 months in advance, but reservations must be made at least four days in advance (make reservation on Monday to arrive on the following Friday). Reservations can be made at www.recreation.gov or by calling (toll free) 1-877-444-6777.

A Day Use area is located near the trail head for those who do not wish to camp; however, camping is prohibited in the Day Use Area.

Ebenezer Hall, an enclosed Day Use Group Building, is also available for events.
