I currently relocated to Mount Pleasant Michigan from Alpena MI. My son was enrolled in the Early Head Start program in Alpena. I called to transfer him to the Early Head Start program in Mount Pleasant and was put on a waiting list. When I called to check on the status on the list, I was told that I needed to reapply because I was not put on the list. Which I did, now I am on the list. My son is not in the program now, and has not been since we left Alpena in May. My oldest was in the program and benefitted from it a great deal. I feel like my son is missing out on his opportunity because someone else made a clerical error. I do not think that it is appropriate and feel that he should be able to transfer in based on where he would have been on the list when I called. I also think that if he is already enrolled in Early Head Start, he should be higher up on the list because he was already receiving services. I believe it is unfair to take these services away from my son, especially after seeing the success in my older child, which I believe EHS had a lot to do with. Is there anything that can be done?Sincerely, Jennifer Cousineau
