Program Description
The West Virginia Children's Health Insurance Program (WV CHIP) provides quality health insurance to eligible children and strives to develop a health care system in which all West Virginia children can access health care coverage. WV CHIP is a free or low-cost health plan for children from birth up to age 19. Covered services include preventive care, such as well-child visits and immunizations, prescriptions, hospital visits, dental, vision, and mental health services.
General Program Requirements
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of West Virginia, under 19 years of age, not covered by health insurance (including Medicaid), a US national, citizen, legal alien, or permanent resident, and you must have an annual household income before taxes of less than $22,880 if one person lives in the household; $30,800 if two people live in the household; $38,720 if three people live in the household; $46,640 if four people live in the household; $54,560 if five people live in the household; $62,480 if six people live in the household; $70,400 if seven people live in the household; $78,320 if eight people live in the household; $81,720 if nine people live in the household; $85,120 if 10 people live in the household; $88,520 if 11 people live in the household; $91,920 if 12 people live in the household; and $95,320 if more than 12 people live in the household.

Apply online using inROADS (Information Network for Resident Online
Access and Delivery of Services). Use inROADS to complete and submit an
online health plan application. You can apply for Pregnant Women and
Children Medicaid and the West Virginia Children's Health Insurance Program.
