Camping at Lewisville Lake

The Corps of Engineers at the Elm Fork operates one campground on Lewisville Lake, Hickory Creek Park.  For campgrounds operated by other entities, check out the Leased Parks.

Reservations:

Campsites can either be reserved or rented on a walk-in basis depending on availability.  We DO NOT make reservations at the gate house, only through RECREATION.GOV.. We recommend reservations on weekends during the summer, and all major holidays.  Campsites for Spring Break, Easter,  Mother's and Father's Day, Memorial Day,4th of July and Labor Day should be reserved well in advance!

  • As of January 1, 2009: Hickory Creek Park will no longer be under National Recreation Reservation System (NRRS) and will begin utilizing a new reservation system. No new reservations will be accepted by NRRS for after January 2009. All reservations currerntly in the system will be honored. For those campers wishing to stay at Hickory Creek Park in January, site availabilty will be on a first-come, first-serve basis until the new reservation system is in place. Upon completion of the reservation system, information on how to access it and make a reservation will be posted at the Hickory Creek Park gatehouse, as well as on this website. The Corps sincerely apologizes for any inconveniences this may cause, however, these changes in park operation are necessary to ensure a stable and sustainable recreational experience for the public. We thank you for your patience. Please click here for more information.
