Program Description
The Weatherization Assistance Program provides funds to reduce the heating and cooling costs for low-income families and to ensure their health and safety. The services are for low-income households, particularly for the elderly, individuals with disabilities, and families with children. The program is administered by the Department of Housing and Community Development.
General Program Requirements
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the State of Virginia and your household's annual income before taxes must not exceed $12,441 if one person lives in the household; $16,679 if two people live in the household; $20,917 if three people live in the household; $25,155 if four people live in the household; $29,393 if five people live in the household; $33,631 if six people live in the household; $37,869 if seven people live in the household; and $42,107 if more than seven people live in the household.
