Nevada State Director is Acting BLM Director

Reno, Nev.— Ron Wenker, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Nevada State Director, will serve as acting BLM director/deputy director in the Washington Office during the transition to a new administration until a new director and deputy director are named.

Wenker is expected to be on the detail up to four months. Amy Lueders, the Nevada Associate State Director, will serve as acting state director in Wenker’s absence.

Wenker became the BLM Nevada state director in October 2005. Prior to that, he was the BLM Colorado State Director. Wenker began his career with the BLM in 1971 and has served in five states and Washington, D.C.

Lueders became the BLM Nevada Associate State Director in January 2004. She started her BLM career in 1984 in the Washington Office as an economist and in budget development and program analyses. Prior to coming to Nevada, Lueders was the BLM field manager in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
