The North Atlantic Division (NAD) RIT provides centralized headquarters support to 5 districts in the northeastern United States, as well as the Europe District in Germany. North Atlantic Division plans, designs, and builds for the Army and Air Force (15 Air Force and 4 Army Reserve installations; the 1st Infantry, 1st Armored, and 10th Mountain Divisions; and 50 Army installations). Its military construction boundaries include the northeastern United States, Europe, Asia Minor, Greenland and Labrador.
NAD also develops and manages water resources, and manages environmental programs throughout the region which covers 6 major river basins, (Connecticut, Hudson, Delaware, Susquehanna, Potomac, and James). Also within its area of responsibility are 5 ports/ harbors (Boston Harbor, Port of New York and New Jersey, Port of Philadelphia, Baltimore Harbor, and Norfolk Harbor), 3,165 miles of US Federal Navigation Channels, 4 Canals (including the C&D - the largest sea level canal in US); and 53 Corps-owned and -operated dams.
