The Raystown Lake Visitors Center

One of the must see places when visiting Raystown Lake is the Seven Points Visitors Center. This two-floor, universally accessible building is your one-stop place, whether you are looking for information on the park, for what events that are happening in the County or for general information and interpretation.

This two-story facility features an exhibit room with hands-on displays such as “Building and Operating a Dam” computer interactives, Raystown Bygone Days, and Generating Electricity, to name a few. There are also paleontology displays depicting life 6,000 years ago, complete with artifacts. Children and adults alike enjoy the wildlife mounts, from the native black bear to the delightful river otter.

The Multi Purpose room affords the visitor a climate-controlled atmosphere in which to enjoy audiovisual presentations ranging from Raystown Lake to local areas of interest.

The large lobby affords comfortable seating with a beautiful view of the lake.

A retail shop, operated by the Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau (http://www.raystown.org) is the perfect place to stop for a souvenir, handcrafted and exclusive to Raystown Country. The shop also carries snacks and other items of necessity.

The lower level hosts the offices of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Ranger and Resource staff, as well as the offices of the Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau. The Corps may be contacted by calling 814-658-3405 and the Bureau at 1-888-RAYSTOWN.
