Washington State Funds

  • State general funds go to "Energy Matchmaker" program and are matched by local, utility and other funds. In FY 2006, over $3.5 million were used to weatherize 1,177 low-income homes.

  • On January 12, the Governor signed a bill that allocated one-time funding of $7.6 million in emergency aid to low-income families. About 14,000 income-eligible families received an average of $350 towards their heating bills in 2006 through LIHEAP. The money came from a fine paid in April by Qwest Communications to the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission.

Note: Leveraging reports do not always give a complete statewide picture. Some resources are not reported through leveraging or are under reported.
