• The legislature passed a bill providing an additional one-time funding of $5 million for fuel and energy assistance to the LIHEAP, January, 2006.
  
  
• Citgo donated 8 million gallons of fuel oil to Maine at a 40 percent discount. The discounted oil was sold at market prices to generate $5.5 million that was used to assist LIHEAP.
