What is the Annual Pass and why do I want one?

The Corps Annual Day Use Pass allows you to use most Corps of Engineers day use areas all year for a $30.00 fee. In the Albuquerque District these passes are honored at Abiquiu, Cochiti, and Conchas Lakes. They are valid 365 days from date of purchase of any given year. Annual passes can be purchased at Corps of Engineers project office and, in many places, from the gate attendants at Corps parks where these passes are honored.

Not all day use facilities honor this pass as some Corps lakes in the Albuquerque District such as, John Martin and Trinidad Lakes and parts of Conchas Lake are managed by state parks.

What is the America the Beautiful pass and where can I get one?

The Golden Age and the Golden Access Passports will no longer be issued after 01 January 2007. They are being replaced with the new America the Beautiful Pass created by the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act of 2004, passed by Congress.  The pass will allow users age 62 or older and permanently disabled persons a fifty percent discount at federal parks.

Golden Age and Golden Access cards issued prior to December 31, 2006 will be honored, as well as, America the Beautiful Age or Access passes toward discounts on camping and boat ramp fees. The Corps has no entrance fees therefore the Annual America the Beautiful pass will not be necessary. Any current Golden Age or Access Passport is still good for the lifetime of the owner.  If at anytime the Golden Age or Access Passport is lost or stolen it will have to be replaced by the new America the Beautiful Senior or Access Pass.

The US Army Corps of Engineers was not included in the new America the Beautiful Pass program authority, therefore, the Corps is not authorized to issue the new pass but is being allowed to honor associated discounts for passholders that acquire their pass from any of the below mentioned agencies.  Under the new legislation, the National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and the Bureau of Reclamation are the only ones allowed to issue the new pass. Not all recreation facilities at Corps Lakes are managed by the Corps of Engineers and the pass may not be valid at those facilities.  Users should check with the project office at the specific lake to determine if the pass is valid at a given boat ramp.  Some of the locations in New Mexico and Colorado with that authorization are:
