Jemez Canyon Dam Day Use Area
Jemez Canyon
A drier Jemez Canyon view.

Jemez Canyon Dam and Reservoir controls floodwaters and retains sediment from Jemez Creek, one of the main drainages of the Jemez Mountains and a tributary of the Rio Grande.

There is an overlook facility and day use area at the end of the access road. All picnic shelters are covered and have raised grills.

Day use is restricted to the immediate developed area.

All land at Jemez Canyon Dam is owned by Santa Ana Pueblo. Trespassers outside the developed area are subject to Pueblo law.

Geocaching is permitted on Corps lands only with express knowledge and approval of the project manger for that project. For project manager contact information please click the projects contact us link.
