Colorado Fuel Fund to Distribute $9.35 Million

Energy Outreach Colorado (EOC), a statewide fuel fund, plans to distribute $9.35 million through its 2008-09 programs to help thousands of Colorado households afford home energy.

This funding, which the non-profit raises through foundation, corporate, government and individual donations, includes:

-- $7.65 million for energy assistance distributed through a statewide network of 100 assistance agencies that operate year-round and through Colorado’s LIHEAP agency network

-- $1 million for Colorado affordable housing organizations to increase the energy efficiency of their homes

-- $550,000 to provide weatherization services to Colorado non-profit facilities such as shelters and residential treatment centers

-- $150,000 to fund education and outreach programs that promote energy efficiency

EOC, which has been in existence for nearly 20 years, is the state’s only independent, not-for-profit organization that raises funds for energy assistance.
