GA Gas Company Donates $1 Million

Georgia Natural Gas will donate $1.1 million to help Atlanta low-income senior citizens weatherize their homes and to educate consumers about energy conservation.

Four Atlanta-area nonprofit organizations will get donations totaling $1 million to provide weatherization services: Southeast Energy Assistance Inc. will get $300,000; Partnership for Community Action Inc. will get $300,000; Clayton County Community Services Authority Inc. will get $200,000; Resource Service Ministries Inc. will get $200,000; and the Heating Energy Assistance Team (H.E.A.T.), the state's oldest energy assistance fund, will get $100,000. The company estimates it can weatherize more than 350 homes of senior citizens.
