Libby Dam outflows decreased with Canadian water swap

Libby Dam outflows decreased with Canadian water swapLibby Dam outflow was decreased by the Corps of Engineers on Aug. 8 from 21,000 cfs to approximately 18,000 cfs. The flow reduction is a result of an agreement between the Bonneville Power Administration, the Corps of Engineers and Canada’s BC Hydro to swap 3.2 feet of Libby storage with Canadian project storage. This storage swap will change the end-of-August draft requirement at Libby Dam from elevation 2439 feet to elevation 2442.2 feet. Outflows will be adjusted if needed throughout August to reach 2442.2 feet. For further information, please contact Cathy Hlebechuk at (503) 808-3942.
