Miller begins work in ERDC laboratory

Kelly Miller photo 11 Feb 04 -- Vicksburg, Miss. -- Kelly Miller recently accepted a position with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) in Vicksburg, Miss.

The ERDC is the premier research and development facility for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. It consists of seven laboratories at four geographical sites, with more than 2,000 employees, $1.2 billion in facilities, and an annual research program exceeding $700 million. It conducts research in both military and civil works mission areas for the Department of Defense and the nation.

Miller is a research hydraulic engineer in the ERDC Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory River Engineering Branch. In this position, he will work on the Adaptive Hydraulic Model (ADH). He is currently responsible for programming subroutines for AHM software and analyzing two-dimensional shallow water models.

Miller earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from Mississippi State University in 1992, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Auburn University in 1997.

Prior to joining the ERDC, Miller worked as an engineer officer at Fort Benning, Ga., for the Corps of Engineers Savannah District.
