Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) Final RuleFinal regulations for the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) were published in the Federal Register on December 12, 2006. The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provides low-income seniors with coupons that can be exchanged for eligible foods at farmers’ markets, roadside stands, and community supported agriculture (CSA) programs through grants awarded to States, United States territories, and federally-recognized Indian tribal organizations (ITOs). A total of 46 State agencies administered the SFMNP during FY 2006. Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) Final Rule - Announcement of Approval and Compliance Date, with Technical AmendmentA final rule announcing the approval of the information collection burden requirements in and the compliance date for the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) was published in the Federal Register on March 23, 2007. The provisions of the SFMNP final rule, published in the Federal Register on December 12, 2006 (71 FR 74618), contained information collection burden requirements that required approval by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). This subsequent final rule announces the approval date of the provisions contained in the final rule and amends the final rule to include the OMB Control Number assigned to the information collection burden. Compliance with the provisions of the SFMNP Final Rule, including the information collection requirements, is required as of January 11, 2007. Back to the Top
