Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children
(WIC):
Revisions in the WIC Food Packages - Proposed Rule
Public comments received during the comment period, August 7
– November 6, 2006, are provided here. Please note that the
comment letters are posted here as they were sent; USDA has not
changed the content of the letters. Posting the comment letters
does not imply endorsement or agreement with the contents on the
part of USDA. USDA also received multiple copies of the same
comment letter, e.g., the National WIC Association’s Stakeholder
letter. In cases where several copies of the same letter were
received, only one copy of the “form letter" has been posted.
Therefore, you may not find a copy of your individual letter.
Please note that FNS does not provide a response to comment
letters. In addition, FNS will not publish a separate analysis
of the comments that were received. However, the preamble of the
interim rule will include an analysis of the comments. FNS
anticipates publishing the interim WIC food package rule in the
fall of 2007.
Proposed rule to revise the WIC food
packages, published August 7, 2006.

Comment letters are grouped into individual PDF files in
order to strike a balance between the number of files to be
opened and the downloading time required for individual PDF
files. For a given category, it may be necessary to open several
PDF files in order to view all the comments which have been
posted.
