DOD WOSB Award
last updated 8/26/2005
The Department of Army is the recipient of the Department of Defense Award for Outstanding Performance in the Women-Owned Small Business Contracting Program for FY 2002. The award was presented at the recent DOD Small Business Training Conference for Acquisition Professionals held July 21-23, 2003, in Arlington, Virginia. The award was made due to the tremendous progress Army has made in the past three years toward the 5% National goal. In FY 2002, $1,577M or 4% of Army's total U. S. business dollars were awarded to women-owned small businesses. This is an increase of 45.6% in contracting dollars to WOSBs since FY 2000. Army's target for FY 2002 of 4% was met and we are working very hard to reach our target of 4.5% for FY 2003.
